Basic of Muay Thai
The first basic of Muay Thai is the posture that was
called in Thai "Jod Muay". The posture of Muay Thai will be different
from boxing or other martial art. Since the posture is the first step
of defending but Muay is the martial art that use eight limbs (2 hands,
shins, knees and elbow) to fight the opponent. This is basic posture of
Muay Thai posture to defend the opponent strike.
1. Feet . The leading foot should be
point straight. The followed foot was lay to make a 90 degree
angle and raise the heel.
2. Knees and body are straight. Don’t bend or bow. 3. Keep the chin beside the shoulders. Shrink the chin to be the same level as shoulders, Raise the shoulder and arms for guarding 4. Grasp the hands and rasie it in the same level of face, to use forearms as a guard to prevent. 5. Face, Look straight. Keep the eyesight to be the same level of opponent’s breast for view the strike from top and downside. |
